Code of Conduct 

GYMNASTS SHOULD​

 

  • Follow their Coach’s instructions and only do the things they are asked to do.

  • Arrive for class dressed in club kit i.e. ORG shorts, leggings, vest or T shirt*, hair tight to the bun or ponytail, with water bottle.

  • Come with their own apparatus: hoop, rope and ball, except preschool and toddler groups.*

  • Arrive on time and not leave until dismissed by the coach.

  • Not run in the gym before the training session starts.

  • Be kind and respectful to others. Behave in a courteous and civil manner and maintain high standards of sportsmanship. Respect your coach at all times.

  • Must inform the head coach of any injuries or illness they may have before the warm up begins.

  • Do not wear a watch or jewellery during training.

  • All gymnasts are to go to toilet with their parents prior to the training starting.

  • Ensure mobile phones are switched off or turned to silent during class.

PARENTS PLEASE

 

  • Ensure your child arrives on time and is dressed appropriately.

  • Drop off and pick up your child from the hall, do not leave your child before the coach arrives. Always drop off and collect your child promptly at the beginning and end of the session. If for any reason you can’t, please contact the head coach ASAP on 07866846273.

  • Ensure you have paid training fees before you bring your child to lesson. Payments must be made monthly in advance throughout the year or your place will be lost.

  • No reduction of fees is made if the child is away.

  • Parents are not allowed in the gym during training or classes unless invited or in the event of an emergency. No unauthorised personnel will be allowed in the training area.

  • Do not take photographs of the training from the viewing area.

  • Parents or individuals wishing to film/take photos of their child during gymnastics training or competition must request permission from the coach in charge of the class.

  • Focus on the child’s effort and performance rather than winning and losing.

  • Never punish or belittle your child for making mistakes.

  • Share any complaints or concerns about any aspect of the club through the approved channels. For more information please refer to the club’s complaints policy.

  • Endeavour to establish good communication with the club officials and coaches for the benefit us all.

  • Use correct and proper language at all time.

  • Keep the club informed if your child is ill or unable to attend training sessions.

  • Gymnasts and Parents alike should avoid intimidating or offensive behaviour.

 

Gymnasts and parents should avoid the disparagement of the knowledge, abilities or performance of others. Accepted methods of raising concerns must be used where deemed necessary.

COACHES & ASSISTANT COACHS MUST

 

  • All ORG coaches must ensure that a safe environment is provided during and after training sessions, displays and competitions.

  • Gymnastics is a sport, which requires a high level of safety and discipline. Therefore, coaches can use appropriate level of verbal discipline if they deem necessary to avoid accidents and minimise injuries.

  • Coaches can use British Gymnastics supporting techniques when helping gymnast understand the correct position, shape or movement.

  • Coaches reserve the rights to sit gymnasts out of the class if child behaviour does not meet the club's rules and might compromise their own safety or safety of other participants

KITS

​

The training kit and apparatus can be purchased directly through the club by filling in order form.
